The Beauty of Vector Art.
Vector art, more commonly known as – ‘Vector Graphics’ are terms relating to visuals which are created by using mathematical formulas in a piece of creative software such as Adobe Illustrator. The main advantge of using Vector Art for design projects is that unlike Raster art which comes in the form of jpegs or bitmaps, it is infinitely scaleable without loss of quality. If you want clean, crisp and beautiful lines for your artwork with the freedom of blowing it up to the size of a billboard and beyond without any distortion – then it is imperitive that you demand vector artwork for your digitally based or printable projects.
We will always provide you with vector based illustrations or design artwork as well as copies of your final designs in other more commonly circulated formats. If you are unsure of exactly what it is that you need, just call us to discuss your project and one of our friendly team will advise you accordingly. If you would like to get more involved in the desgin process of your project, we can work with any non vector based artwork. Maybe you have some photoshop visuals or rough sketches on paper. Just send them over and we will turn them into beautiful vector art ready for use in your new or existing projects.
The Process (How we do it)
Every brief we take on at 6oranges starts at the drawing board. Quite literally. Whether we are working on a single logo or a complete branding exercise, first thing’s first – out come the pencils and paper. While we love the modern times and how things have advanced in the design world, we still believe that tradition firmly holds its place at the roots of the design & illustration industry. When you hire us, you can expect us to deliver a well thought out and properly implemented solution to your design needs. Only when we have a clear plan and direction do we take what we have on paper to the digital world.
Once we take raw (pencil or inked) artwork and transfer it to the computer, we begin creating that all important vector art. If it is a simple logo we are creating, then we tend to use the shape tools that Adobe Illustrator has which are really effective for this. If we have a more complex logo or some detailed artwork to reproduce then the real work begins with the pen tool. Basically, the pen tool is a magical wonder tool which has characteristics that don’t really resemble the functionality of a pen at all. A few thousand clicks and some uttered profanities later – beauty is born. Why not have a look at some of the vector work that we have produced both for ourselves and for clients.
